Job description:

The Team Leader – Clinical Pharmacy acts as an expert in the provision of clinical pharmacy services, providing advice and support across a broad range of clinical pharmacy issues to both internal and external stakeholders and participates as a member of the Tasmanian clinical pharmacy management team and provide leadership in the design, operation, and evaluation of clinical pharmacy services, policy review, training and project work as required.

The Role:

The Team Leader – Clinical Pharmacy acts as an expert in the provision of clinical pharmacy services, providing advice and support across a broad range of clinical pharmacy issues to both internal and external stakeholders and participates as a member of the Tasmanian clinical pharmacy management team and provide leadership in the design, operation, and evaluation of clinical pharmacy services, policy review, training and project work as required.

  • Extensive experience and advanced knowledge and skills in a range of activities relevant to the area of practice, including dispensing, patient counselling, clinical pharmacy, manufacturing, and medicines information, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Advanced knowledge of, and experience implementing, the standards, relevant legislation, codes of practice and workplace guidelines and frameworks relevant to the area of practice
  • Demonstrate advanced communication, negotiation, conflict management and professional leadership skills.

The Team:

The LGH is Tasmania's second largest hospital and the major referral centre for Northern Tasmania. 

Providing inpatient and ambulatory services to Launceston and surrounding areas and is the largest employer in the region with around 4000 staff. The LGH has 349 beds (excluding mental health inpatient beds).

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, shift worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $123,717 to $138,296 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022

Allowances: 

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme

In addition a market allowance of $10,000 per annum pro rata is approved until 17 May 2026, this allowance will be reviewed prior to expiry

*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

Position Features

  • Participation in an on call and weekend roster, with other pharmacists, for out-of-hours provision of pharmacy services is required.
  • The position is being recruited to as Shift Work.
  • Occasional intra and interstate travel may be required for all roles.
