The Role:
Perform a variety of pharmacy duties on a rotational basis following appropriate training. This may include providing coverage pharmacy roles within other specialised pharmacy services. Lead and/or participate in quality improvement, research and education of self and others.
- Deliver high standard pharmacy care to patients ranging in clinical and social complexity across scope of service areas, assuming professional responsibility consistent with a senior clinical position.
- Work within multidisciplinary teams to deliver best practice pharmacy services or programs relevant to outpatient and inpatient care.
- Provide professional supervision, guidance, support or education to assist with orientation, supervision and clinical competency training for interns, level 1-2 pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and other health professionals.
This is a senior position delivering pharmacy services to inpatients and outpatients of the Department. The occupant of this position will be expected to work under the general direction of the Relevant Team Leader or Manager. This position is responsible for:
- Deliver an advanced scope of pharmacy practice within clinical, dispensary or manufacturing in accordance with professional, legal, best practice and ethical standards that meets the requirements of the Australian Government Guiding Principles to Achieve Continuity in Medication Management.
- Contributing to the development of pharmacy practices, procedures and guidelines that support delivery of best practice clinical care.

The Team:
The Senior Rotational Pharmacist will be working within the Virtual Care Pharmacy Service including inpatient and outpatient services such as Hospital@home, Care@home and any programs that may be placed under this service. These programs currently operate out of multiple locations including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Glenorchy, and Cambridge Park, additional locations may be added as services expand. This role may also involve providing remote virtual support for services in the North or North West of the state as required. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

Multiple Permanent, full time and part time, shift-worker positions working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $106,966 to $123,013 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $115,573 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
- A market allowance of $10,000 per annum pro rata is approved until 17 May 2026, this allowance will be reviewed prior to expiry

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia or completion of an overseas qualification eligible for skills assessment through the Australian Pharmacy Council.
