Job description:

The Pharmacy Manager – Virtual Care reports to the Pharmacy Site Manager (South) who will provide managerial supervision, with professional leadership being received from the Statewide Pharmacy Manager - Dispensary

The Team:

The Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest tertiary referral centre, and our pharmacy team provide comprehensive services across diverse areas, including inpatient care, outpatient clinics, virtual care and high-acuity settings. The Role:

The Pharmacy Manager – Virtual Care reports to the Pharmacy Site Manager (South) who will provide managerial supervision, with professional leadership being received from the Statewide Pharmacy Manager - Dispensary. 

The Pharmacy Manager - Virtual Care provides leadership to relevant staff statewide and is expected to demonstrate considerable autonomy and exercises initiative and professional judgment across the spectrum of responsibilities, as well as judging when to seek advice or direction.

Due to the Virtual Care services being based throughout the state, some travel will be required. The principal places of work are at the RHH and at Cambridge Park.

The occupant of this role will:

  • Provide a consistent, statewide approach to supporting medication management for Virtual Care that meets the needs of the Virtual Care leadership team, within resources allocated.
  • Operate in accordance with the goals and direction of the pharmacy service as directed by the relevant Pharmacy Managers and the Executive Director - Statewide Hospital Pharmacy Operations.

You will need:

  1. Significant leadership experience in hospital pharmacy in a range of practice settings or services.
  2. Experience in dispensing medications under the PBS and other mechanisms for subsidised access to pharmaceuticals, including National Medicines Stockpile, Section 100, and hospital formulary schemes.
  3. Experience in the delivery of remote clinical care.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $123,717 to $138,296 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Allowances:

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme 

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
  • A market allowance of $10,000 per annum pro rata is applicable to this role

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Pharmacy Board of Australia
