The Role:

The Team:

• The Emergency Department (ED) team within Hospitals North plays a critical role in providing immediate, life-saving care to the community. Comprising of emergency physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, paramedics, allied health professionals, and support staff, the team works collaboratively to assess, diagnose, and manage acute medical conditions. Their multidisciplinary approach ensures timely and effective treatment for patients, while their integration with broader health services, such as primary care and public health, supports holistic care and continuity. Through their efforts, the ED team serves as the frontline responder, enhancing health outcomes and contributing to the overall well-being of the community.

The Department of Health Tasmania oversees various hospitals across the state, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services. Details of appointment:

Fixed term, part time, day worker, working 24 hours per fortnight, commencing from 4 November 2024 until 26 January 2025. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $111,506 to $118,336 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

Allowances: 

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

• Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
