Job description:

The Senior Communications Officer plays a key role in the development, delivery and evaluation of internal and external communications for DHT, including pro-active and reactive media, communications strategies, stakeholder relations and issues management.

The Role:

This is a senior role within the Digital Health Transformation (DHT) Program team requiring advanced knowledge and experience of media and communications and the ability to lead activities which have a positive effect on organisational outcomes and strategic objectives within and beyond the team.

The Senior Communications Officer plays a key role in the development, delivery and evaluation of internal and external communications for DHT, including pro-active and reactive media, communications strategies, stakeholder relations and issues management.

  • Operate with a significant degree of independence and autonomy in the execution of key communication activities.
  • Provide specialist advice to the senior leadership team, including the DHT Director, Program Managers and colleagues on strategic and operational media and communications matters.
  • Develop, lead, implement and evaluate internal and external communications activities in support of the Agency’s and the Government’s policies, projects and initiatives for DHT.
  • Prepare and review a wide range of written materials for various audiences in numerous formats, including media releases, online and social media platforms, video content and marketing material.
  • Establish, develop, and manage productive relationships and liaise with internal and external key stakeholders to advance the delivery of agreed DHT media and communications goals.

The Team:

The Senior Communications Officer reports to the Senior Manager – Stakeholder Engagement Digital Health Transformation (DHT).  As a key member of the Stakeholder Engagement team, the Senior Communications Officer will support the management of stakeholder engagement for the DHT Program by planning activities and providing expert advice on, and ensuring successful delivery of strategic public affairs, media, marketing, communications, stakeholder engagement, issues management and brand consistency.  The Stakeholder Engagement team supports the overall vision DHT Program ‘To empower consumers and enable healthcare professionals to deliver better patient outcomes through system-wide, digitally enabled technologies.’

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $124,371 - $130,905 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
