Job description:

We are seeking a Project Officer to within Primary Health North to deliver high level project support including maintain the roll out and development of the pilot program; conduct ongoing evaluation of the program; assess the feasibility of expanding the program to other regions of Tasmania and other disciplines; support applications for ongoing funding of the program.

The Role:

Under the direction of the Medical Director, SPCS North, the  broad direction of the Manager Strategic HR Projects, the Project Officer will work within Primary Health North to deliver high level project support including maintain the roll out and development of the pilot program; conduct ongoing evaluation of the program; assess the feasibility of expanding the program to other regions of Tasmania and other disciplines; support applications for ongoing funding of the program.

Key duties will include:

  • maintaining the implementation and development of a pilot telehealth palliative mentoring and education program
  • conducting and reporting ongoing evaluation of the program
  • assessing the feasibility of expanding the program to other regions of Tasmania and other services within Primary Health North
  • supporting applications for ongoing funding of this program

The Team:

Specialist Palliative Care North provides palliative care services in community, hospital (regional and district) and inpatient unit. In addition to clinical care, the service conducts research and is a provider of teaching for undergraduate medical students, advance trainees in palliative medicine and other disciplines and generalist practitioners. In 2024, SPCS North, supported by the Tasmanian Palliative and End of Life Clinical Network, established a pilot tele-education program for general practitioners in the North, providing monthly education using the ECHO model of case based teaching and shared learning. 

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working up to 16 hours per fortnight, commencing from 4 November 2024 until 20 June 2025.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $104,756 to $118,730 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
