Job description:

We are seeking a Nursing Director to be responsible for the efficient and effective implementation of leading and delivering outcomes for organisational leadership development, workforce management, people development and cultural improvement programs across Hospitals North West

The Role:

The Nursing Director is responsible for the efficient and effective implementation of leading and delivering outcomes for organisational leadership development, workforce management, people development and cultural improvement programs across Hospitals North West using the Pathway to Excellence framework to achieve the highest levels of safety, quality, patient and staff satisfaction.

The Team:

Working with like-minded nursing and midwifery professionals, the Nursing Director Excellence in Care and Culture will lead, foster and support a culture aligned with the Department of Health values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence that overarch the Hospital and Primary Care Our People Our Place Our Purpose framework principles that guide and drive outcomes for our staff and our communities. As part of the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery Office, and working collaboratively with the Hospitals North West Executive leadership team, this role has a direct and significant impact on Hospitals and Primary Care North West outcomes.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, day worker (with on-call) position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 2 December 2024.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $134,445  per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023 and Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Interim Agreement 2013

Allowance 

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Benefit available to eligible candidates:

  • Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees.

  • Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible.

    • Registered with the Nurses and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
      *Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
