Dental Officer – Permanent
Tasmanian Health Service – North / North West
You can be a Dentist anywhere in the world. What’s different about Tasmania is our culture and our lifestyle. You will have a powerful connection to your colleagues and patients, and the community will encourage your success. Our isolation helps drive a culture of invention and human connection, which feels both old fashioned and… like the only future worth pursuing. Here you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to breath-taking coastlines, National Parks or award-winning restaurants or bars – all right on your doorstep. After a hard day at work, you don’t have to sit in a car for an hour. You can get on your bike or put on your boots and explore all that Tasmania has to offer.
There are approx. 100 of us in the Northwest and 150 in the Northern region, an eclectic mix of locals and new Tasmanian adventurers. We are dental professionals, technicians and assistants, customer service and administration officers, coming together to improve the lives and livelihoods of our community. Here, you are encouraged to be your authentic self, to pursue your passions, and to bring your clinical and world knowledge to the table to contribute to making our team one that punches above its weight with progressive and impactful care.
Oral Health Services Tasmania are looking for experienced dentists who would like to join our team. A successful and suitable applicant can have opportunities to supervise final year undergraduate students, complete dental treatment under general anaesthesia as well as work within our major clinics. We are a progressive and innovative service, currently leading the way in Australia through our uptake of Digital Prosthetic Dentistry and our work with Conscious Sedation. We will provide opportunities for a varied working week supported by a tight-knit broader team.
We are small enough in Tasmania for you to shape and influence your work and make a real impact every day. Yet we are big enough for you to feel part of something important, somewhere you can belong and be surrounded by diversity, innovation, and friendships. We’ll look after you from the very beginning, ensure you are fully inducted and welcomed into our team and into our culture. We’ll tell you where to go for dinner, and on your days off. And we’ll invest in your growth, with time, resources, and expert colleagues available to help foster your development.
Something is happening here, and you’re invited to be part of it. Be Tasmanian.
