Job description:

Function as a clinical resource and liaison person for medical investigators, national and international trial centres, drug regulatory authorities and other stakeholders in relation to clinical trials. Responsible for a clinical trial portfolio, coordinating trial participants and providing clinical case management support to the Nurse Unit Manager and Medical Oncologist with other clinical trials as required.

Primary Purpose:

Function as a clinical resource and liaison person for medical investigators, national and international trial centres, drug regulatory authorities and other stakeholders in relation to clinical trials.

Responsible for a clinical trial portfolio, coordinating trial participants and providing clinical case management support to the Nurse Unit Manager and Medical Oncologist with other clinical trials as required.

The Role:

Ensure adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards

Provide direct clinical and research care to trial participants

Maintain, collect and record data relating to outcomes, adverse events, protocol deviations

Ensure the integrity and reliability of trial results

The Team:

The Northern Cancer Service conducts research projects aimed at improving services and treatment for patients living with cancer at a local, national and internal level. We run a range of phase 2 and phase 3 clinical trials in solid tumours and blood cancers. All clinical trials and research conducted at the Northern Cancer Service have ethical approval and oversight from an accredited, nationally recognised Human Research Ethics Committee. Details of appointment:

Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 58 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible for 12 months.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $75,902 to $102,908 per annum, Pro rata. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award.

Allowance

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

RN:

  • Access to the Grade 4 salary range $96,558 to $102,908 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowance calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

    *Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Relevant post basic/tertiary clinical qualifications
