Salary
$134,930 - $189,005 per annum + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging
Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022

Period of Employment
Fixed term, full time day work, 76 hours per fortnight (+ 10 hours protected training time pro rata) commencing 3 February 2025 for up to three years.

Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer of any new criminal convictions and/or if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
- General Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
- crimes of violence
- sex related offences
- serious drug offences
- crimes involving dishonesty
2. Identification check
3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.

Selection Process:
Candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on the following desirable criteria:
Desirable Requirements – Registrars
- Previous clinical experience in Intensive Care Medicine, Anaesthesia, and/or Emergency Medicine, including competence in relevant procedural skills
- Successful completion of practical acute care and resuscitation courses, such as ALS, BASIC, APLS, EMST and formal Point of Care Ultrasound training.
- Advanced trainees with CICM, ANZCA, ACEM and/or ACRRM
- Demonstrated experience in audit, research, teaching, and safety and quality.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership roles either within or outside of work.
Desirable Requirements - Senior Registrars & Transitional Fellows
- A minimum of three years relevant clinical experience including at least 24 months recent experience in Intensive Care Medicine
- Completion of CICM Primary Examination
- Completed or near completion of final examinations for Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine, or an equivalent qualification
- Applicants who have completed Fellowship in another acute care specialty, who have suitable Intensive Care experience, or are dual-training in Intensive Care, may be considered for Senior Registrar posts.
