Job description:

Spencer Clinic Inpatient Unit is sited within the THS North West, Burnie Campus. We are a 19 Bed Acute Mental Health Unit.

The role:

  • In collaboration with members of the healthcare team plan, implement and evaluates patient/client care.
  • Interact effectively with patients’/clients’ families and other health team members to facilitate the provision of optimum patient/client care.
  • Active involvement in maintaining and continually improving the quality of patient/client care. This may include participation in research and evidence based practice.
  • Identify and meet educational needs of patients/clients and their families/significant others.

Spencer Clinic Inpatient Unit is sited within the THS North West, Burnie Campus.  We are a 19 Bed Acute Mental Health Unit which includes 2 High Care beds.

Details of Appointment

Multiple permanent full time and part time, shift-worker positions working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $75,902 to $102,908 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Access to the Grade 4 salary range $90,293 - $96,428 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
  • crimes of violence
  • sex related offences
  • serious drug offences
  • crimes involving dishonesty
