Job description:

Responsible for the provision of high-level analysis and advice on strategic policy issues including monitoring of strategic projects across Hospitals and Primary Care.

The role:

  • Undertake and/or coordinate complex work and major statewide projects relevant to Hospitals and Primary Care.
  • Scrutinise, research, investigate and analyse proposals and other issues of relevance to the Deputy Secretary and provide high level advice, develop proposals and options and put forward recommendations.
  • Provide high level advice and assistance to the Deputy Secretary, relevant Ministers, the Secretary, other Deputy Secretaries and other senior staff in relation to the Office of the Deputy Secretary and the efficient and effective discharge of the Deputy Secretary’s functions.
  • Provide high level strategic advice and support to the Deputy Secretary on diverse and complex issues and nominated projects and priorities.
  • Develop and maintain governance frameworks and supporting policies and procedures to manage the Deputy Secretary’s obligations, including delegations, authorisations, appointments and approvals, in consultation with the Department of Health (DoH) Legal Services Unit.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Location: Hobart, Tasmania

Salary: $124,371 to $130,905 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

  • Relevant qualification from a recognised institution or equivalent experience
