Job description:

In the role of Senior Physiotherapist (Orthopaedics) you will provide optimal evidence-based physiotherapy to orthopaedic patients across the Royal Hobart Hospital.

  • Provide evidence driven patient centred physiotherapy care to orthopaedic patients, facilitating patient flow, discharge planning and optimising patient outcomes.
  • Promote a learning culture supporting leadership and clinical supervision to physiotherapists, allied health assistants and undergraduate students.
  • Foster innovation and support Quality Improvement and Service Delivery projects.

The Role

Within the Department Framework and in accordance with Agency Policy and Procedures the Senior Physiotherapist will, within a defined clinical team and/or other specified areas of the Hospitals South:

  • Provide care collaboratively with the patient/client and carer, and other members of the multidisciplinary team as relevant.
  • Assist in the coordination of services and service development.
  • Clinically supervise Level 1-2 Physiotherapists and/or Allied Health Assistants (AHAs), and physiotherapy and/or AHA students, as required.

In the role of Senior Physiotherapist (Orthopaedics) you will provide optimal evidence-based physiotherapy to orthopaedic patients across the Royal Hobart Hospital. In this role you will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment to deliver evidence driven patient centred care and as a consultative resource across the acute care service. As a member of the Physiotherapy Musculoskeletal team, you will contribute to a culture of learning and foster leadership and innovation.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, full time day worker (with on-call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary 

$106,966 - $123,013 per annum + our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1,000 per annum.
  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $115,573 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Physiotherapy Board of Australia
  • Registered with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Postgraduate qualifications or working towards this in the identified clinical area.
