Job description:
To lead the Department’s work programs in the areas of strategic risk and resilience and whole of government emergency management capabilities and platforms. This includes working with all stakeholders to identify, develop and facilitate disaster risk reduction and emergency management initiatives aligned to Tasmanian Government strategic emergency management priorities.
To provide expert advice to the Executive Director, senior executive and the Premier and Cabinet on emergency management communications, risk management, resilience and related areas. To lead, manage and deliver projects and programs within these areas.
To lead and deliver the Department’s emergency management communications functions during emergency events, including managing TasALERT and the whole of government Public Information Unit.
To manage interjurisdictional and interagency relationships, and to manage the financial and human resources of the business unit to deliver initiatives, programs and projects.
