About the Role
The Statewide Manager – Care and Coordination Services leads the delivery of integrated, therapeutic, and safe care coordination services across Tasmania. This role is responsible for statewide oversight of adoption and permanency services, placement matching, and case management support to carers. It ensures that all forms of family-based foster care, kinship care and residential care are delivered and coordinated to uphold the rights, safety, and wellbeing of children and young people, and supports the implementation of a trauma-informed, relationship-centred model of care.
The role contributes to the strategic redesign of care services in alignment with the Commission of Inquiry recommendations and the future model of care, ensuring readiness for service transformation, including the outsourcing of case management for foster carers to non-government service providers, and the provision of a diverse range of care options for children and young people in care.

We are looking for
Essential
- Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) with a registration Status – Employment
- Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, eligible for membership with the relevant professional association
- The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
1 Conviction checks in the following areas:
a) crimes of violence
b) sex related offences
c) serious drug offences
d) crimes involving dishonesty
e) serious traffic offences
2 Identification check
3 Disciplinary actions in previous employment check
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualifications in social work, psychology, human services or management
- Significant experience in the delivery of human/family services and a high level of expertise in Child Safety
- Current driver’s licence
