About Us
We play a vital role in fostering physical, emotional, and social wellbeing within our schools across the state. We are a collaborative and multidisciplinary team, working alongside psychologists, speech and language pathologists, social workers, and educators.
About the Role
As a School Nurse in a Support School, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. This role centres on support and mentoring, where you will work closely with school staff who provide direct care to students, guiding and empowering them to support students’ health and development needs effectively. You will also work in partnership with students, families and carers together with the wider community and other agencies to meet health, development and safety needs.
In this position, you will:
- Be part of an innovative, statewide School Health Nurse Program that drives quality care and best practice.
- Provide expert advice and mentoring to school staff, promoting high standards of student care.
- Collaborate with students, families, and educational staff to ensure a nurturing and responsive approach to student well-being.
- Work in close partnership with school-based and regional health teams, maintaining strong professional networks and contributing to a connected system of care.

Essential Requirements
- Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People
Desirable Requirements
- Postgraduate qualification in health or paediatric nursing
- Current driver’s licence
