About the Roles
- Advanced Skills Teacher - Wellbeing and Student Support
The Advanced Skills Teacher (AST) position for Wellbeing and Student Support will be centred around wellbeing. The AST will be required to deliver professional learning around Learning Plans, The Case Management Platform and developing a strong school culture. The AST will be required to complete student moderation for those on the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD). As part of the School Support and Wellbeing Team (SSWT) the AST will use whole school data to inform decision making and evaluate impact, especially around attendance. Lead the process of transitions into high school and work directly with students to ensure they have a strong voice within the school.
- Advanced Skills Teacher - Teaching, Learning and Assessment
The Advanced Skills Teacher (AST) position for Teaching and Learning will be centred on leading the school’s improvement agenda in literacy and numeracy. The AST will consistently use data to identify future school direction and evaluate impact of school actions. The AST will lead Professional Learning Team's (PLT's), and run whole school professional learning in both literacy and numeracy. The AST will be required to coach and mentor other staff in literacy, numeracy and pedagogy.
Period of Appointment
Ongoing - start date of 28 July 2025
Applicants should be aware that for twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill any subsequent full-time or part-time vacancies in accordance with Employment Direction 1.
Hours per fortnight
- 35 hours per fortnight for Advanced Skills Teacher - Teaching, Learning and Assessment
- 35 hours per fortnight for Advanced Skills Teacher - Wellbeing and Student Support
Essential Requirements
- Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
- A registered teacher with full registration within the meaning of the Teachers Registration Act 2000.
- Qualifications as established by the Tasmanian Industrial Commission in the Teaching Service (Tasmanian Public Sector) Award, 2005.
Desirable Requirements
- Four years or more training as defined in the Teaching Service (Tasmanian Public Sector) Award 2005.
