About the Role
Lead a speech and language pathology team to provide professional advice and services which support students and families including building the capacity of school communities to improve students’ access, participation, and achievement.
As a DECYP Senior Speech and Language Pathologist you will:
- lead a team of speech and language pathologists providing professional advice and clinical services to support students and families.
- Diagnose and report on communication and swallowing disorders, organise and implement treatment for students.
- provide leadership on matters such as complex clinical cases, professional learning, recruitment, service allocation and inter-agency liaison.
- provide professional learning on language development, communication and swallowing disorders to schools, families and community groups.
- contribute to the strategic direction of DECYP’s student support services.

Period of Appointment
Ongoing - ASAP start date
Applicants should be aware that for twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill any subsequent full-time or part-time vacancies in accordance with Employment Direction 1.
Hours per fortnight
60.8 hours per fortnight
Salary range: $124,861 - $132,050 + 11.5% superannuation
Starting salary may be negotiated commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Professional development: $1,000 per annum for professional development expenses and eligibility to apply for up to 10 days per annum paid study leave (pro-rata).

- Flexible working arrangements with time for non-clinical duties during work hours
- Generous leave entitlements including: 3 Christmas leave stand down days in addition to 20 days annual recreation leave (pro-rata), paid parental leave, long service leave and the option to purchase additional leave
- 10 days per year (pro-rata) of non-attendance time (during school holidays).

Essential Requirements
- Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
- Tertiary qualification/program of study accredited by Speech Pathology Australia and is a full member of Speech Pathology Australia or is eligible for membership with Speech Pathology Australia

- A current driver's licence.
