Job description:

The Lead Instructional Specialist – Literacy provides strategic management and support in the implementation of the Lifting Literacy – Reading Priority ensuring, as part of a state-wide team, the promotion of evidence-based instruction and assessment for literacy The role will lead others in the achievement of strategy and deliver high-level guidance for schools to support the teaching and learning of literacy through the provision of evidence-based resources and professional learning – aligning curriculum, assessment and pedagogy within a multi-tiered system of supports framework.

Duties

The Lead Instructional Specialist – Literacy provides strategic management and support in the implementation of the Lifting Literacy – Reading Priority ensuring, as part of a state-wide team, the promotion of evidence-based instruction and assessment for literacy

Period of Appointment

7 February 2025 to 7 February 2028

Applicants should be aware that for twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill any subsequent full-time or part-time vacancies in accordance with Employment Direction 1.

Hours per fortnight

Up to 73.5 hours per fortnight

Essential Requirements

  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
  • A registered teacher with full registration within the meaning of the Teachers Registration Act 2000.
