About You

Essential requirements
- Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) with a registration Status – Employment
- The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
a) crimes of violence
b) sex related offences
c) serious drug offences
d) crimes involving dishonesty
e) serious traffic offences
2. Identification check
3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
NOTE: The cost associated with obtaining a RWVP is the responsibility of the individual.

Selection from the Register
Where a vacancy occurs the Department's Fixed-term and Relief Employment Register will be examined to identify those persons who possess the necessary knowledge, skills, currency and qualifications to undertake the duties of the vacancy and who will be available to work.
Where vacancies are identified and an applicant(s) are regarded as being suitable to undertake the particular appointment, a merit-based selection process will be undertaken. The selection process may involve formal interviews.
