Job description:

Research, analyse and develop projects and policy to support Tasmania’s environmental and natural resource management and conservation priorities.

About the role

As a Policy Officer, you will work in a dynamic team delivering policy and projects that support Tasmania’s environmental and natural resource management priorities. You will contribute to high-impact work that helps protect and sustain the state’s unique natural values through evidence-based policy and collaboration.

In this role, you will:

  • Contribute to the development, review and implementation of environmental projects, policy and legislation.
  • Undertake detailed research and analysis to inform advice and decision making.
  • Provide clear, well-informed advice on policy options, programs and processes.
  • Liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across government, industry and community.
  • Prepare high-quality documentation including briefs, reports, submissions and communication materials.

There are two permanent positions available, based in Hobart.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).

Desirable requirements

  • A qualification in a relevant discipline, as provided by either a university, a vocational educational organisation or a registered and accredited training provider.
  • A current motor vehicle driver's licence.
