Job description:
The position supports Community Corrections to provide assessments, evidence-based interventions, and case consultation for offenders on community-based orders.

Period of Appointment
18 Months.
Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.
Duties
- Undertake comprehensive assessment and treatment planning of offenders, providing evidence based, best practice interventions in an assigned area of practice.
- Maintain offender case notes, records and administrative information and prepare formal assessments and other reports in accordance with relevant practice standards.
- Provide leadership, clinical direction, and guidance to Community Corrections staff.
- Work collaboratively with Practice Leads and Unit Managers to provide training, expert advice, quality assurance and case management support to Probation Officers working with offenders subject to community based intervention.
- Liaise and build relationships with stakeholders to support community and victim-survivor safety.
- Perform other duties as envisaged by the assigned classification under the relevant industrial award or agreement and in accordance with the skills, competency and training of the occupant.
Essential Requirements
- A degree of at least 3 years duration in Psychology, Social Work or Counselling or equivalent as provided by a recognised university.

- Pre-employment (National Police Record) checks for: Arson and fire setting, violent crimes and crimes against the person, sex-related offences, drug and alcohol related offences, crimes involving dishonesty, deception and/or conspiracy, making false declarations, malicious damage and destruction to property, serious traffic offences, crimes against public order or relating to the Administration of Law and Justice, Executive or the Legislative Power.
- Disciplinary action in previous employment.
