Job description:

Deliver senior policy advice and complex projects for the Tasmanian Government, advancing the Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy and sector.

About the role

Provide high level strategic policy advice and lead complex projects within the Waste and Resource Recovery (WRR) Business Unit to support Tasmania’s shift towards a circular economy.

The Senior Project and Policy Officer will help drive the development and delivery of key initiatives under the Tasmanian Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy and support the growth of Tasmania’s resource recovery sector.

  • Support and deliver complex projects, including coordinating activities, monitoring timelines, identifying risks and preparing reports.
  • Provide high-level research, analysis and strategic policy advice on contemporary waste and resource recovery issues.
  • Consult and collaborate with stakeholders, building and maintaining effective professional relationships and networks.
  • Operate with independence and influence, coordinating specialist work in a dynamic policy and regulatory environment.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).

Desirable requirements

  • A degree or an equivalent qualification relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken, as provided by a university, a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider.
  • A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
