Tourism Tasmania is recruiting for an exciting new position within our Executive Leadership team, as our Chief Business Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight and accountability for  multiple teams, including Commercial, Finance, Legal, Governance, Communications and Stakeholder Engagement providing advice to the CEO and ELT on critical agency-wide initiatives
  • Working in conjunction with the Head of Commercial to establish best practice frameworks for risk, audit, and governance that integrate into our business operations
  • Representing the Agency in interactions with key external meetings and forums as required
  • Leading the development of our strategic plan by defining objectives, KPIs, and yearly business plans to tackle present and future challenges

This role isn't just about keeping the agency running smoothly. We want to grow visitation sustainably while deepening how visitors connect with our environment, people, culture and history. We are looking for a strategic leader who can turn our purpose into practical action, making sure that our commercial and stakeholder led approach support what we are trying to achieve.

 

Who you are:

You will be a strategic operator with an outcomes focussed approach. You will have the ability to work autonomously to rethink how we work by modernising processes, aligning resources to what matters most, and building commercial and governance approaches that fit today's challenges. You will have demonstrated previous experience working at the senior leadership level, ideally with prior experience advising the C-suite or equivalent.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be comfortable with complexity, confident at leading through change, and skilled at building alignment across teams. Though there will be several measures of success for this role, a key outcome will be the creation an agile, efficient and performance focussed organisation that can adapt quickly while staying true to our values.
