Job description:

Macquarie Point is a major urban renewal project for the City of Hobart on which the planned Mac Point Multipurpose Stadium is the foundational infrastructure development project for the site. As a senior member of the Corporation, develop and deliver Site Master Planning projects which meet client needs and provide whole of Corporation value.

We are committed to building a workforce that reflects the society in which we live and work, and recognise the significant value of having a diverse team. We strongly encourage people from all walks of life to apply for this position, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.

We understand the importance of a flexible working environment and encourage you to talk to us about what flexibility may look like for you.

Macquarie Point is one of Tasmania’s most significant urban renewal precincts — a once‑in‑a‑generation opportunity to shape a vibrant, world‑class destination on the Hobart waterfront. With the Mac Point Multipurpose Stadium as a catalyst project, the site is entering an exciting phase of complex planning, development and transformation.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to play a pivotal role in delivering strategic projects that will define the future of this landmark precinct.

About the Role

As a senior member of the Corporation, you will lead the end‑to‑end planning, development and delivery of complex, high‑profile projects that contribute to the long‑term vision for Macquarie Point. This is a rare opportunity to influence major urban outcomes, navigate multi‑stakeholder environments and make a genuine impact on Tasmania’s future.

You will:

  • Drive complex project development, master planning processes and commercial strategies from concept to delivery.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement across government, industry and community, ensuring collaborative and effective partnerships.
  • Oversee project governance, risks, contracts, reporting and resource management to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Provide authoritative advice, prepare high‑level briefings, and represent the Corporation in key forums.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for someone with:

  • Highly developed project management expertise, particularly across complex public, private or precinct development projects.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills with the proven ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and experience managing financial, human and physical resources.
  • The ability to work agilely and innovatively in a changing, politically aware environment.
  • Knowledge of — or the ability to quickly acquire — the objectives and issues relating to the Macquarie Point Site Master Plan.

Ready to Shape the Future of Hobart?

If you’re motivated by meaningful, city‑shaping work and thrive in complex project environments, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply now and help deliver the next chapter of the Macquarie Point story.
