Provide essential administrative and operational support across a variety of functions, delivering business administrative services and working closely with colleagues to help deliver projects that drive our strategic goals. You will also provide executive and administrative support that keeps our leadership team organised, informed and able to focus on what matters most.

Join our team as an Administration Officer and play a key role in keeping our Office running efficiently and effectively.

Period of Appointment

9 February 2026 - 24 April 2027

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available. 

Key Duties

  1. Provide high-level administrative and clerical support including inbox management, initiation and timely preparation of correspondence and reports, proofreading and document formatting, secretariat support and the referral of matters for action by appropriate staff.
  2. Assist with the end of month processing including payment processing and financial reporting for the Office.
  3. Organise and schedule events, meetings, training and other appointments, including the arrangement of corporate functions, travel, accommodation and itineraries as required.
  4. Assist senior staff in their research and analysis of policies and procedures.
  5. Undertake project related tasks as assigned by senior staff.
  6. Assist in administering the Office’s electronic document and records management system, resolving issues in accordance with established policies and procedures, and undertaking established quality assurance activities for records in the records management system.
  7. Assist with the recording, collection, analysis and dissemination of statistical data.
  8. The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.
  9. Performance is measured against Key Performance Indicators that are developed and agreed to for each role in the Office and documented in annual Performance Plans.

Essential qualifications and requirements

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this position is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following; Arson and fire setting; Violent crimes and crimes against the person; Sex-related offences; Drug and alcohol related offences; Crimes involving dishonesty; Crimes involving deception; Making false declarations; Malicious damage and destruction to property; Serious traffic offences; Crimes against public order or relating to the Administration of Law and Justice; Crimes against Executive or the Legislative Power; Crimes involving Conspiracy.
  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
  3. Identification check.

Desirable Requirements

  • A recognised Certificate III or higher qualification related to the responsibilities of the position.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, in particular Excel and Word.
