Job description:

The Field Officer will help manage some of Tasmania’s most unique and remote reserves, including the Tarkine rainforests and Rocky Cape National Park

About the role

As a Field Officer based at Stanely, you’ll play an essential role in managing some of Northwest Tasmania’s most pristine and wild reserved land, including the Tarkine rainforests, Rocky Cape National Park, the Nut State Reserve, and some offshore islands.

You’ll implement the field centre operational plans and carry out works to maintain the field centre infrastructure and facilities. This is a diverse role, and your duties are wide-ranging and could include firefighting, managing toilets and campgrounds, undertaking weed management activities, implementing project works, or assisting scientists on offshore islands.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).

Period of appointment

10 months.

Desirable requirements

  • A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
  • A current Workplace Level 2 First Aid Certificate or equivalent.
