Job description:
Provide leadership in the analysis and use of workers compensation and work health and safety data to inform policy, monitor scheme performance and support continuous improvement. Oversee the Performance and Monitoring Unit and ensure the integrity, security and effective use of WorkSafe Tasmania’s workers compensation data systems and reporting processes.

Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.
Duties
- As an expert resource, provide advice and information to WorkSafe Tasmania and the WorkCover Board Tasmania on the use of information in performance monitoring, policy formulation, promotional and educational activities and other programs/projects.
- Manage the day-to-day operational activities of the Performance and Monitoring Unit providing direction to its staff and oversee and manage the project work of external parties.
- Oversee the management of WorkSafe Tasmania’s workers compensation data collections and data systems and actuarial program.
- Initiate analysis of workers compensation and work health and safety data to identify and report on issues and trends and provide recommendations where appropriate.
- Take a leading role in the development and implementation of key statistical outputs that are useful for the effective monitoring and evaluation of the Tasmanian workers compensation scheme and Tasmanian work health and safety performance.
- Maintain knowledge and awareness of workers compensation, injury management and work health and safety issues, including liaison with relevant stakeholders.
- Represent WorkSafe Tasmania and the WorkCover Board Tasmania at conferences, meetings and on working parties or other forums as required.
