Job description:
The Spatial Analyst will design, develop, and deliver spatial solutions to support government agencies with emergency services requirements as defined in the Tasmanian Emergency Management Arrangements (TEMA). Additionally, the ability to deploy to Emergency Operation Centres (EOCs) for incident response to deliver geospatial intelligence products, capabilities and services.

About the role
The Spatial Analyst will design and deliver spatial solutions that support emergency management activities across government agencies, as outlined in the Tasmanian Emergency Management Arrangements. The includes developing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools and products, managing critical spatial datasets, and deploying to Emergency Operation Centres (EOCs) to provide real-time geospatial intelligence during incident response.
The team’s primary focus is to support the Government’s response to a range of emergencies through the use of spatial capabilities- across all phases of emergency management: preparedness, response and recovery. This role is integral to enabling informed decision-making and effective coordination during major incidents.

Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).
Desirable requirements
- A Bachelor of Geospatial Science, or equivalent level qualification, relevant to the duties to be undertaken, as provided by a university.
- A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
