Job description:
Support the TasRIC by providing legal and policy advice, contributing to policy projects, and assisting with investigations and inquiries.

About the role
The office of the Tasmanian Racing Integrity Commissioner was established on 1 February 2025 for the purposes of enforcing the Racing Regulation and Integrity Act 2024.
- This role will help strengthen the integrity of racing and animal welfare in Tasmania.
- This critical role will provide high-level advice on legal and policy matters and contribute to the development and delivery of a diverse range of policy issues and priority projects of the Tasmanian Racing Integrity Commissioner.
- You will support and assist with investigations and inquiries conducted by the on behalf of the Commissioner.
- You will prepare clear and concise written advice and recommendations on complex, sensitive, and confidential matters and issues.

Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).
Period of appointment
Until 30 June 2027.
Pre Employment Checks
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this role is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
- Crimes involving dishonesty including illegal betting or gambling
- Serious traffic offences
- Serious drug offences
- Crimes of Violence
Essential requirements
- Current motor vehicle drivers’ licence.
- A Degree in Law and/or extensive experience in legislation and policy relating to sports integrity.
