Job description:
To design, implement and maintain cloud-based solutions, with a focus on infrastructure, integration, automation, and data management, while providing leadership and guidance to analysts, developers, and support specialists in their development, support and maintenance.

Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.
Duties
- Work with Solutions Architects, business and technical SMEs and vendors to:
- Analyse and document requirements for cloud infrastructure, system integration, automation, monitoring, and data management.
- Design, develop, configure, and test Microsoft Azure solutions (e.g. Logic Apps, Functions, Data Factory, App Services, storage, and identity/security services).
- Document solution designs, patterns, development standards, and operational procedures to ensure maintainability and supportability.
- Review internal and vendor-delivered designs, specifications and code to ensure quality and alignment with departmental standards.
- Maintain version control, automated deployment, and infrastructure-as-code tools, ensuring a high level of code quality, and conduct quality checks on team deliverables.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g. Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights), and collaborate with infrastructure and security specialists to ensure solutions are appropriately configured, secure, and compliant.
- Conduct training and knowledge transfer sessions with technical specialists and business SMEs, and provide mentoring and guidance to team members.
- Keep abreast of best-practice cloud solution patterns and evolving security requirements, and work with infrastructure and security specialists to ensure that systems are appropriately configured, secure, and monitored.
- The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.
Desirable Requirements
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure integration and data services (e.g. Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus, Key Vault, Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake) or equivalent experience in another major cloud platform with the ability to rapidly transfer skills to Azure.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights).
- Proficiency with scripting or programming languages such as SQL, PowerShell, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and DevOps toolsets (e.g. ARM/Bicep, Terraform, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps).
- Knowledge of business intelligence and analytics tools & platforms (e.g. Power BI, JasperSoft, etc).
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments and contributing to process improvement initiatives.
