Job description:
Support Land Tasmania by delivering specialist technical services in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial database management.

About the role
The Spatial Analyst plays a key role in supporting Land Tasmania’s operations and the Land Information System Tasmania (LIST) by delivering expert technical services in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial databases.
In this role you will develop, maintain and enhance desktop, web-based and enterprise GIS systems, as well as contribute to IT projects that improve spatial data delivery and system functionality.
- Improve business processes and solve technical challenges related to GIS applications.
- Deliver spatial information services and advice to government clients.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders across government, industry and the public.
- Stay informed on national and international GIS standards and technologies.

Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).
Desirable requirements
- A Diploma in Geographic Information Science or equivalent or higher level, relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken, as provided by either a university, a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider.
- Professional IT knowledge gained through satisfactory completion of a course relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken, as provided by either a university, a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider.
- A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
