School-Based Traineeships 2026

Our Opportunity

Are you starting year 11 or 12 in 2026? Would you like to gain a nationally recognised certificate II while you attend school, as well as earn wages? The School-Based Traineeship program gives you the chance to work one or two days a week in a State Government division while earning a qualification! 

Available Traineeships

There are various traineeships available across different areas of the State Government! You’ll have the opportunity to gain a Certificate II in Workplace Skills while you complete your school year. 

  • Trainee Administration Officer, based in Hobart or Rosny.  

  • Trainee Visitor Services Officer, based in Hobart. 

  • Trainee Finance Officer role, based in Hobart.  

  • Trainee Laboratory Officer role, based in Launceston 

  • Trainee Wildlife Officer, based in Hobart. 

  • Aboriginal Wildlife Officer, based in Hobart. 

  • Administrative Support Trainee, based in Ulverstone

Eligibility

This opportunity is available to students who are enrolled to study years 11 or 12 in 2026. Depending on which agency you’re employed by, there may be other essential requirements.
