Job description:

Manage our integrated PR activities in global markets, contributing to the success of our marketing strategy and building our brand by generating positive earned and new media coverage through strategic and collaborative PR.

We are seeking a PR Manager – Integrations & Partnerships to manage our integrated PR activities in global markets, contributing to the success of our marketing strategy and building our brand by generating positive earned and new media coverage through strategic and collaborative PR.

As a member of the PR team, you will develop and implement effective, brand aligned PR strategies across domestic and international markets that raise awareness, tap culture and cut through with diverse media and audiences.

You will bring earned-first thinking to integrated projects with internal marketing teams, the agency village and global partners – identifying and optimising opportunities to drive meaningful collaboration and results.

You will nurture the growth and development of team members and successfully manage agency, partner and media relationships.

As an organisation, we strive to be contemporary and brave and support ongoing learning and development through investment in our people. If you thrive working in an environment where innovation is embraced and creativity is encouraged, you enjoy connecting with people, and you have a passion for Tasmania and the Tourism Tasmania brand, we’d love to hear from you.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Reporting to the Head of PR, you will manage PR Integrations and partnerships for Tourism Tasmania in domestic and global markets in collaboration with the Chief Marketing Officer and Head of PR.
  • You will manage traditional publicity in global markets including famils and press office activity, as well as working with in-house marketing teams and global agencies across integrated campaigns, activations and cross-team executions. You’ll provide strategic PR counsel, foster collaboration, and execute with an earned-first lens.
  • You will work with domestic and global partners to create and deliver PR-led partnerships, including with media, advocates and trade.
  • You will manage a PR Coordinator (direct report), monitoring their performance and providing ongoing coaching and support for their learning, development, and personal growth.
  • You will collaborate closely with Tourism Tasmania’s Social team to identify integration opportunities for global markets, including advocates and content creators that have earned and social potential.
  • Hosting media, advocate and partner famils as required.
  • Ongoing assessment of PR programs and activities to determine whether strategic objectives are being met.
  • Assessment of the production of all PR materials, ensuring press releases, media kits and PR content are brand-aligned and of the highest quality.
  • Supporting the Head of PR and the PR team on strategic initiatives and team processes.
  • Working with the Partnerships Team to foster a strong relationship with global partners, including helping to deliver PR, content and media partnerships for co-op campaigns.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in all PR activities.

What you'll work on

  • Fostering collaborative working relationships with our PR agencies, internal marketing teams and global partners – managing the day-to-day requirements of each stakeholder’s deliverables to ensure compliance and value, delivering high quality media coverage and brand exposure in global markets.
  • Working with PR agencies, partners and internal marketing teams to identify and build relationships with key target media in each market, and where relevant to the market, building relationships with partners, influencers and advocates.
  • Working with internal marketing teams and external PR and creative agencies, as well as global partners, to identify and facilitate earned-first integration opportunities.
  • Managing one direct report, a PR Coordinator, nurturing their growth and development through coaching and empowerment while ensuring their ongoing high performance across the global PR program.
  • Overseeing the production of high-quality brand aligned content packages for press releases, media kits, and other PR materials.
  • Ensuring PR activity meets objectives and KPIs, consistently tracking performance and regularly reporting and communicating results effectively.
  • Managing designated PR budgets effectively and efficiently.
  • Identifying responsive opportunities and acting quickly to leverage them.
  • Managing projects including on-ground media experiences, brand acts, stunts, activations, shoots, advocates and more.
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams, particularly the Partnerships Team, to ensure a consistent, brand aligned presence in each market, including PR support of integrated brand campaigns.
  • Developing strong relationships with tourism industry and media industry stakeholders.

Who you are

You are an experienced consumer public relations professional who brings earned-first experience and skills, overlayed with integrated skills and experience across social, advocate, digital, paid and partnership programs.

You are a creative thinker who thinks outside of the “traditional PR box” and are driven by connecting with people and building positive relationships. You look for opportunities to create value while telling the brand story, and you make things happen collaboratively and efficiently.

You have a strong connection with and an authentic passion for Tasmania as a brand and destination and are excited to make a difference to our brand, our team, and our industry.
