Job description:

Macquarie Point is a major urban renewal project for the City of Hobart on which the planned Mac Point Multipurpose Stadium is the foundational infrastructure development project for the site. As a senior member of the Corporation, develop and deliver Major Capital Works and site infrastructure projects which meet client needs and provide whole of Corporation value.

Duties

1. Lead, manage and undertake complex project development and stakeholder engagement activities, including contract negotiation, administration, and commercial strategy development, to ensure the successful delivery of strategic projects.
2. Manage and monitor project activity, timing and progress; identify, manage and mitigate project risks and strategies; and provide project status reports and other reports as required.
3. Manage the financial, information, human and physical resources of identified priority projects in accordance with government and Corporation policies, guidelines and directions and ensure that identified priority projects deliver defined and agreed outcomes.
4. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders and information networks to ensure the delivery of agreed project outcomes.
5. Research, analyse, evaluate recommendations, and contribute to the development of policies and guidelines relating to the development and delivery of projects.
6. Prepare complex discussion papers, guidelines and briefing documents for project steering committees, CEO, Ministers and Cabinet so that timely decisions are made and to ensure the successful delivery of identified priority projects
7. Undertake special projects as required by the Corporation.
8. Represent the Corporation in a variety of forums and undertake high level liaison, negotiation, consultation and contract management with relevant government agencies, contractors and private sector stakeholders.
9. Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives and related training, ensuring that quality and safety improvement processes are in place, applied to projects and acted upon.

Desirable Requirements

Tertiary qualifications in development, project management or a related discipline and/or demonstrated experience in public sector capital works delivery and project management.
