Job description:

Effectively assist in the assessment of the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) Unit in accordance with legislation and through policies and procedures of the Unit.

Period of Appointment

Fixed term - 2 years

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available. 

Duties

  • Ensure the proper registration of applicants in Tasmania by providing advice on the risks associated with identified applicants.
  • To provide advice and support to the Team Leader, Assistant Director and Director, Registration to Work With Vulnerable People.
  • Provide interpretation advice on registration and licensing legislation, including the Risk Assessment order issued by the Minister under the Registration to Work with Vulnerable Persons Act 2013 and its application.
  • Coordinate decision-making on non-standard matters and assist in the preparation of the reasons for decisions.
  • Provide advice on the necessity for amendments to legislation, determinations and policies.
  • Participate as appropriate in public consultation processes, including providing information on how the process works.

Essential Requirements

  • A Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.

Desirable Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field of study.
