Duties
-
- Coordinate the investigation of complaints and incidents associated with the legislation administered by WorkSafe Tasmania and ensuring appropriate investigation standards are maintained.
- Lead and develop team members by providing guidance, coaching, mentoring and support, in often complex situations, in order to maintain and improve health and safety within Tasmanian workplaces.
- Monitor compliance standards of Tasmanian workplaces against established criteria including coordinating field-based compliance inspections using discretionary powers to assist or direct workplaces to improve safe systems of work.
- Prepare and oversee the development of high level ministerial and legal documents including files for consideration by the coroner or prosecution and attend court and tribunal hearings as required.
- Assist in the development and implementation of operational plans and represent the organisation in a variety of external forums.
- Perform other duties from time to time as directed or required.

Desirable Requirements
-
- Extensive industry experience, and appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as management, work health and safety, Investigations, occupational hygiene or a willingness to acquire them.
