Job description:

The position supports the Principal Policy Advisor (National Redress Scheme) and will work with the Royal Commission Response Unit to undertake activities to support the State to implement the National Redress Scheme and related recommendations under the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse and related policy frameworks.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available. 

Duties

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in relation to the delivery of request for information processes, the Direct Personal Response (DPR) framework and counselling and psychological care arrangements.
  • Participate in policy discussions related to the National Redress Scheme and support the Principal Policy Advisor (National Redress Scheme) to develop systems to meet the regular reporting requirements of the National Redress Scheme.
  • Develop, manage and/or coordinate legislative and policy projects including the preparation of project and policy documentation.
  • Undertake research and prepare advice on emerging legislative and policy issues and provide strategic advice.
  • Prepare high-level documents for the Deputy Secretary, Minister for Justice and other Ministers including correspondence, Minutes, Cabinet Minutes, Parliamentary papers, and Executive Council papers.

Essential Requirements

  • A Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
