Duties
- Collect, collate and evaluate information to produce intelligence which supports intelligence led, risk-based decision-making.
- Conduct analysis of data obtained from various sources to produce tactical and operational intelligence for the Tasmania Prison Service.
- Use, maintain and/or monitor various databases and systems (i.e. prisoner telephone system, offender management system, intelligence system) to identify patterns, trends or potential threats.
- Prepare written intelligence reports, summaries and deliver oral briefings to a range of stakeholders in line with organisational standards and requirements.
- Assist in the delivery of intelligence specific training to employees across DOJ.
- Record information and intelligence appropriately and ensure appropriate levels of security and confidentiality are adhered to, including storage and dissemination.
- Facilitate government and external agency requests for information in accordance with policies or statutory requirements.
- Maintain electronic and hardcopy document registers as required.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and attend meetings and forums as required.
- Maintain contemporary knowledge of intelligence concepts and best practice, the criminal justice system and the correctional environment.
- Undertake other relevant and appropriate duties as directed.

Desirable Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance
- Understanding of prison operations and court processes, or ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.
- Demonstrated prior experience working in a dynamic intelligence environment.
