Job description:

Working at the St Helens Field Centre you will use your practical skills to undertake minor construction works, maintain infrastructure, buildings and equipment in the area. You will support the conservation and sustainable use of natural and cultural resources, including the management and appreciation of Aboriginal heritage values on reserved land, in consultation with Aboriginal groups within Tasmania.

Hours per fortnight

76.0 hours per fortnight (minimum 60.8 hours, by negotiation).

Essential requirements

  • Aboriginality.  The Head of the State Service has determined that this is an Aboriginal identified position and that the person nominated for this position is to meet the Tasmanian Government’s eligibility requirements in accordance with Employment Direction No. 10 - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment in the State Service before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer.

Desirable requirements

  • A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
  • A current Workplace Level 2 First Aid Certificate or equivalent.
