Digital Infrastructure Services provides the foundational technology platforms that keep Tasmania’s public health system connected, secure and operational. The team delivers and supports the Department’s enterprise data centres, compute and storage platforms, virtualisation, data protection, network connectivity, Wi-Fi and core infrastructure services that underpin clinical, corporate and business systems across the state.
Working in a complex 24×7 always-on Health environment, the team plays a key critical role in service reliability, cyber resilience, asset lifecycle management, infrastructure modernisation and the delivery of technology that directly supports frontline care. As an IT Consultant – Servers, you will work with a skilled and high-performing team responsible for critical server, storage, virtualisation, backup and core infrastructure services that underpin clinical, corporate and business systems across the state.

This is a hands-on technical role with real impact. You will contribute to the design, delivery, maintenance and improvement of enterprise infrastructure in a complex 24×7 health environment, while providing specialist advice, technical leadership and support to colleagues, stakeholders and vendors. The role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful infrastructure services that directly support hospitals, health facilities, clinicians, staff and the Tasmanian community.

You will need:
- Proven record of achievement in delivering innovative technology solutions, services and/or expert technical support within a complex work environment.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $107,899 to $122,292 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
