Job description:

In this role, you will provide dental services, in line with the policies, protocols, and guidelines of the Agency and OHST, to eligible adults and children.

The Team:

Oral Health Services Tasmania (OHST) is the state government provider of dental services to eligible Tasmanians. OHST employs a multidisciplinary team of dental professionals in the delivery of child, adult and prosthodontic services, working in major centres and community clinics. 

The Role:

As a Dental Officer employed with OHST, you will work in the Southern region as part of a multidisciplined team concerned with the delivery of preventive and restorative dentistry, improving overall health and dental outcomes to eligible Tasmanians. 

Provide clinical dental services and associated administrative functions in line with Oral Health Service Tasmania’s (OHST) strategies, policies, and programs. This involves the provision of dental services (at general dental practitioner level) to concession card holders and children in accordance with current treatment guidelines and management policies.

You will need:

  • Sound knowledge of dentistry, including children’s dentistry, at the general dental practitioner level. 
  • A commitment to continuing professional education and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
  • An up-to-date knowledge and appreciation of the principles of Public Health Dentistry and Minimal Intervention Dentistry with a commitment to improving the safety and quality of services.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $129,130 to $202,386 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Dental Officers Agreement 2022.
