Job description:

The Revenue Management Team seeks a Senior Finance Officer to ensure accurate, timely billing and revenue collection across the Department of Health

The Team:

The Revenue Management Team plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely billing and revenue collection across the Department of Health. The team is responsible for identifying billable patients, including private, Medicare ineligible, and compensable patients, and ensuring appropriate billing for services. 

The team also assists with doctor billing under the private practice plan, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and positive revenue outcomes.

The Role:

Provides high level administrative and financial support to the Team Leader – Revenue. The position supports the Revenue Management Team by assisting with routine financial processes, reporting and revenue related activities in accordance with established policies and procedures. The role works under direction to support the effective delivery of revenue management functions across the organisation.

The position also assists with stakeholder engagement, responding to enquiries, supporting business units with revenue processes, and contributing to team development and continuous improvement activities.

You will need to:

  • Assist the Revenue Management Team with daily activities, routine monitoring of processes and systems, and support debt management activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Provide support to the Private Patient Scheme Co‑ordinator by assisting with doctor registrations, including the preparation and processing of documentation to enable participation in the scheme and facilitate Medicare and health fund billing. The role also assists with monthly doctor payments, reconciliations and reporting.
  • Assist with service delivery by responding to stakeholder enquiries, supporting business units with revenue processes, and participating in team development, training and continuous improvement activities.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $81,915 to $94,263 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
