Job description:

In this role, you will undertake administrative, transactional and reconciliation processes for the DoH in accordance with relevant service standards, legislation and Agency policies and procedures.

The Team:

Finance Operations is based within Finance and Business Support and provides the primary support mechanisms and processing of Agency cash-based transactions. The area encompasses Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions with services being provided across the Department of Health (DoH).

The Role:

Finance Services Officer undertakes administrative, transactional and reconciliation processes for the DoH in accordance with relevant service standards, legislation and Agency policies and procedures.

The occupants within these positions may be expected to have primary responsibility for the administration, reconciliation, and processing transactions for:

  • The DoH’s centralised Bank Accounts
  • Tasmanian Government Corporate Cards
  • Debt recovery to assist the DoH with reducing outstanding debt
  • Staff travel and other allowance claim

You will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in undertaking a wide range of administrative and financial duties, utilising financial management information systems and Microsoft Office software, together with the ability to manage large quantities of data with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting processes and procedures, including financial regulations, legislation, and policies, or the ability to quickly acquire such knowledge and understanding.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of clients, staff, and business organisations.

Details of Appointment

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. 

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $73,811 to $79,779 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
