Job description:

The Administrative Officer: • Provides a high-level and broad range of administrative and clerical support to the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and staff of Community Nursing and Home Care Services. • Will assist and support the NUM in building management, and management of material and financial resources for the Community Health Centre, including business activities and projects.

The Role:

The Administrative Officer will, in accordance with primary health care principles, policies and legislative requirements:

  • Provide assistance and guidance to the band 2's at the service.
  • Requires undertaking administrative and organisational duties associated with the day-to-day activities of the office, including efficient management of information specific to the Community Nurses, Home Care Services and Community Health Centre Offices, Payroll, Invoicing for Brokered for Nursing and Home Care Clients, financial delegation and assisting the Nurse Unit Manager as required as well as providing general reception and telephone screening services and ensure confidential handling of enquiries, checking in clinic and podiatry clients, data entry and ordering of office stationery as required. 

You will need:

  • General administrative and clerical skills to undertake duties including the collection and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail; photocopying, collating and distributing documents and correspondence; filing, faxing, scanning; and maintaining electronic records and information systems for the efficient operation of the Centre as well as experience with Payroll, Invoicing for Brokered for Nursing and Home Care Clients, financial delegation and assisting the Nurse Unit Manager.
  • Efficient and effective reception service to support and maintain the efficient flow of information to and from Hellyer Community Health Home Care Service, the Community Nursing Service and other services such as Podiatry, Health Promotion, Smoking Cessation Clinics and Alcohol and Drug Services within the Centre.
  • Efficient and effective telephone screening service as necessary ensuring confidential handling of enquiries and routine matters as required.

Details of appointment:

  • Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 1 May 2026.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $73,811 to $79,779 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
