Job description:

Assist the Director of Cardiology and other staff in the overall investigation and management of cardiology patients of the Launceston General Hospital through provision of a quality echocardiography service

The Team:

  • The LGH cardiology team encompasses the CCU, Cath Lab, non-invasive cardiology, CIED management, and cardiac rehabilitation.
  • Our team consists of a diverse group of nurses, technicians, administrative staff, medical professionals, and allied health experts, all collaborating within a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Our integrated services focus on delivering exceptional healthcare, ultimately enhancing outcomes for our patients, our workforce, and the community.

The Role:

  • Perform echocardiograms under general professional guidance, in accordance with the imaging protocols of the Australian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM) and Cardiac Society.
  • Support the reporting cardiologist by providing provisional echocardiogram reports where possible, organising digital materials for review, typing up the final corrected version and distributing reports as required.
  • Assessing the medical request/referral and ensuing correct protocols are followed.

Details of appointment:

  • Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join us.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $73,834 to $111,364 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

Allowances:

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Eligible for registration with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR)

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Ultrasound

  • Eligible for ordinary membership of the Australian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine
