Job description:

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator for the Women's and Children's stream at the North West Regional Hospital to provide clinical excellence, education and training to support our nurses and midwives.

The Team and Role:

Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Clinical Nurse Educator in Tasmania's North West region. This permanent part-time role offers you the chance to shape the future of nursing practice while maintaining excellent work-life balance.

As a Clinical Nurse Educator for the Women's and Children's stream, you will play a pivotal role in clinical excellence, leading innovative education and professional development that empower nurses and midwives to deliver safe, compassionate, family-centred care to paediatric patients.

Lead Educator for the RADAR (Recognise Acute Deterioration and Respond) Paediatrics course. RADAR Paeds is an award-winning course which delivers the skills require to recognise and treat paediatric patient deterioration and the confidence to ask for help. The course is delivered throughout the Northwest of Tasmania as part of our commitment to the district hospitals and any clinical area caring for children.

You will need:

  • Demonstrated high level knowledge, skills and clinical expertise and the ability to lead and evaluate nursing practice for paediatric patients
  • Ability to apply facilitation skills, learning and evaluation strategies in the clinical context, to further the development of a person-centred culture including the implementation and evaluation of professional development, education and training activities.
  • Sound understanding of contemporary education, health and professional development issues and their impact on the knowledge and skill requirements of the nursing workforce.
  • Demonstrate the application of acquired knowledge to teaching and learning, quality improvement and research in the practice environment to achieve better patient outcomes.
  • High level written and interpersonal communication skills, with proven ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary context.
  • Demonstrated understanding of workplace safety and the principles of workplace diversity and the legal, ethical and professional practice standards related to nursing practice.

Details of appointment:

Multiple permanent part time day workers, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you would like to join our team.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Holds, or is currently working towards, postgraduate qualifications in education and/or clinical teaching and learning
  • Holds, or is currently working towards, postgraduate qualifications in the area of clinical/practice speciality as relevant to the position
