Job description:

OHST is a team of approximately 300 people including dentists, oral health therapists, dental prosthetists, technicians, dental assistants and administrative staff.

The Team:

OHST is a team of approximately 300 people including dentists, oral health therapists, dental prosthetists, technicians, dental assistants and administrative staff.  Care is provided from 33 clinics around Tasmania. Adult services are predominantly provided from 6 major dental centres located in Hobart (New Town), Clarence, Glenorchy, Launceston, Devonport and Burnie as well as the 3 Special Care Dental Units (located within hospital precincts). Child and Adolescent Services are provided predominantly from 23 community clinics which are either located in a community health centre or are a stand-alone clinic.

The Role:

Provide prosthetic services in accordance with the policies, protocols and guidelines of Oral Health Services Tasmania, including the assessment and management of patient treatment plans.  Refer clients to appropriate clinicians as required. 
Maintain individual clinic case treatment records including recording of occasions of service and treatment histories. 
Liaise with and provide advice and support to dental practitioners and other health professionals (including students) in relation to prosthetic treatments. 
Participate in the planning, development and review of dental prosthetic services and assist with the implementation of new or modified dental prosthetic procedures and/or equipment.

You will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of dental prosthetic services. 

  • Demonstrated understanding of quality improvement, together with the capacity to contribute to the review and development of operational policies and procedures 
relating to the delivery of dental prosthetic services.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to exercise judgement and flexibility in establishing rapport with clients and colleagues.

Details of appointment:

Permanent part time, day worker position, working 45.6 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $73,834 to $111,364 per annum pro rata. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Dental Board of Australia
  • Registered with the Dental Board of Australia
