
The Team:
The Integrated Operations team, consisting of the Roster Support Unit, the Patient Flow, After Hours Nurse Managers smooth the running of the NWRH to allow smooth transition for patients throughout the hospital, the filling of vacant shifts and safe staffing throughout the hospital. The team is a developing team, welcoming to change and healthy culture.
The Role:
- Provides leadership, oversight, and management of the activities of the health service/facility after-hours.
- Supports the efficient and effective provision of care, based on clinical standards and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework, by coordinating patient flow and management functions within the health service/facility.
You will need:
- Provide leadership and direction in the delivery of after-hours patient care within the assigned health service/facility in accordance with best practice principles and within a collaborative multidisciplinary framework.
- Provide leadership in contemporary nursing practice and promote an environment conducive to innovation and change.
- Assume the role of Chief Fire Warden in the event of an emergency in accordance with the health service/facility policies and procedures until appropriate support arrives on site.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term, part time, shift worker position, working up to 56 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join us until 21 November 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $130,203 to $136,295 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
