Job description:

Lead a dedicated team of rescue and retrieval Flight Paramedics and Doctors within Critical Care and Retrieval, fostering an environment of growth and development.

The Team:

The Tasmanian Emergency Air Service (Rotary) represents a collaborative effort between Ambulance Tasmania, Tasmania Police and our aviation contractor. The capacity to work collegially is pivotal to the role within a tightly-knit and highly motivated team environment.

The Role:

The occupant of this position will undertake an operational management role in overseeing the efficient and effective day to day activities of our rotary base, providing direction and supervision to a small team of Flight Paramedics, ensuring services comply with national standards, operational policies and any applicable legislation.

The occupant will also be required to fill operational shifts at times as an Intensive Care Flight Paramedic (rotary)

You will need to:

  • Provide guidance and support to Flight Paramedics ensuring an environment which provides opportunity for team members to develop, gain experience and improve competence to ensure maximum operational performance and service delivery.
  • Ensure the efficient and effective completion of operational duties and administrative duties of flight paramedics, including the meeting of appropriate key performance indicators.
  • Provide leadership and coordination of operational resources including determining and liaising with operational colleagues to ensure appropriate staffing levels within allocated resources, to affect a seamless delivery of service to meet performance standards.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term full time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 18 October 2026

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $156,149 Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Ambulance Tasmania Agreement 2019

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Paramedicine Board of Australia

  • Hold a Bachelor of Paramedic Science or other qualification approved by the Service and relevant work experience with an additional qualification in management or equivalent

  • Intensive Care Paramedic with a Graduate Certificate in Emergency Health (Aero-medical Retrieval) or equivalent as determined by the Service

  • Current Driver’s Licence
